日本是中國鞋類產(chǎn)品第三大出口市場，近年來，中國鞋類產(chǎn)品對日本出口呈穩(wěn)步增長趨勢。日本是鞋類消費(fèi)大國，人均鞋消費(fèi)量為3.5雙。日本制鞋企業(yè)不多，規(guī)模也很小，其消費(fèi)市場鞋類產(chǎn)品主要依賴進(jìn)口。
日本是我國鞋類的第三大出口市場。據(jù)日本海關(guān)統(tǒng)計，去年（目前）日本進(jìn)口成品鞋5.7億雙，35億美元，比上一年分別增長了3.0%和5.8%。其中，從中國進(jìn)口了5.2億雙，24.3億美元，占日本成品鞋進(jìn)口總量的91.5%和69.3%，同比分別增長了3.7%和7.0%。
日本是世界第三大鞋類進(jìn)口市場(中國香港地區(qū)除外)。與美國的鞋類進(jìn)口幾乎完全自由化所不同的是，為了保護(hù)本國制鞋業(yè)，日本對進(jìn)口鞋類實(shí)施關(guān)稅配額制度，也就是以關(guān)稅來限制進(jìn)口量，超過配額部分的進(jìn)口鞋，被刻意提高關(guān)稅，以控制進(jìn)口量。
